BLACK HISTORY MONTH CALENDAR

The Black History Month Calendar will trace the civil rights movement through the roots of the Bailey/Bonaparte/Wilson family.  The journey will be made through ten minutes film clips, which will be shown everyday in the month of February.  The clips will provide a black history lesson, identify unsung heroes, show the impact and/or participation of a family member.  Each clip will end with a cliff- hanger requiring a plan of action. Audience participation will be solicited through voting for a plan of action.

Many of the family members have never met or knew of each others existence. The clips will also identify and address the various predispose health issues of the family.

Blog comments will also be welcomed.

Starting on February 1, 2007, a film clip will show the participation of the family in the lunch counter sit-ins.   The dates will not necessarily correspond with a historical event.   The audience will not be able to view the clips until the date it is to be shown.  The clip for the next day will be uploaded by 3:05 AM on the following day.  This will be done to make sure that the west coast will not be able to view the clip until the next day.
